This project will generate clean energy through renewable solar energy sources. The project activity involved the installation of a 90 MW solar power project in Karnataka state of India. Within 10 years the project will replace GHG emissions estimated to equal 159,816 tCO2e per year. This will result in the displacement of 165,564 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the grid which predominantly operates by utilizing thermal or fossil fuels.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests has stipulated environmental, social, economic and technological well-being as the four indicators for sustainable development. This project contributes to sustainable development by: generating employment opportunities, development of infrastructure, investment in clean technology, reduce supply and demand gaps, reduce GHG emissions and encourages others to participate in similar projects.
